Change of plans!
After thinking about my project I realized that a realistic crash scene would be extremely impossible to make look or feel real. This is because I obviously can’t have any type of actual physical interaction between the two cars. In order to fix this slight problem, I decided to change the crash to a flat tire. In order words, instead of having my main characters crash into another vehicle and get kidnap, now they are just simply going to get an unexpected flat tire which is going to force them to pull over in the middle of an isolated road with no sign of life or any type of natural light. Scroll down to take a look at the new updated version of the storyboard and screenplay.
Storyboard:
This part of the storyboard was not affected by the addition of the flat tire.
As seen by the first three boxes the car is simply traveling along the road and is shown with a combination of high angels, long shots, and close-ups. The first box on the botom represents how the car wheel gets punctured and is shown by a close up of the tire. The next shot is shown by a long shot and it represents how the group of friends was being watched by a strange individual. The last box is a blackout and its purpose is to be used as a transition between the two next scenes.
In this scene, a woman is seen reporting on the breaking news of the missing teenagers. As the reporter is finishing with the news, the camera cuts to an old tv reporting the same news, and later shows someone's hand turning off the tv. Afterward, the camera pans to the right and Ricardo, Santiago, and Rafaella are seen chained up to the wall with tape on their mouths and is then followed by a blackout.
Screenplay:
In this new updated version of the screenplay, the characters have more of a human interaction compared to the last one. For instance, this updated version includes more jokes and more character lines. I decided to go with this because I believe that it will catch the attention of more possible viewers due to the fact that the character interactions will make it feel more personal. Overall, I updated the screenplay because along with catching the attention of more viewers, it will also help me stay organized and will help my ideas flow better.
