This is the second to last post of my film opening project and I am completely shocked as to where the entire year has gone to. My CCR consisted of using a green screen in order to place my self in a very warm / tropical place, additionally, I am completely delighted on the way that everything has turned out. Furthermore, I am shocked that tomorrow is going to be my last post ever, but nevertheless, I am sure that it’s going to be a great one. Scroll down to view my Creative Critical Reflection.

Week Nine 1/3

Time to start wrapping it up :(

It’s all over and I am kinda sad about it. All of the hard work has paid off, and I am grateful for all the advice that I have received from everyone. This journey started with research, this step was absolutely essential in making the rest of the project look the way it does. To be specific I started by researching how horror movies get marketed, then I researched my target audience. These two things helped me big time when it came to creating my CCR. Additionally, my planning portion has also helped me enormously in the overall process of creating a movie opening. For example, my calendar/schedule was key when it came to getting all my actors ready to film. One of the many problems that I had during the project was when my main actor got sick. I had to act in the best interest of my project so I got rid of him and I used a new one. This was the best solution for the project because it allowed me to continue filming without having to push the entire schedule. Another problem that I had to deal with was the coronavirus, which didn't allow my actors to leave their homes to film. The problem with this was the fact that I still needed to finish filming my last scene. The way that I decided to fix this problem was by using my family members as my actors. Even Though this resulted in a huge continuity error it was my only option. Overall, I am very happy in the way that it has turned out. This project has taught me how to deal with time management along with the importance of being a good director, cameraman, etc. If I had the opportunity to change something I would make the horror aspect of my opening appear sooner, but nevertheless, I am more than happy with the end result of both my film opening and my CCR. Tune in tomorrow for my CCR!

Week Eight 3/3

And the second to last week is over!

Just like that, I just finished the second to last week of my project. Today was extremely stressful, I started to edit my CCR yesterday and I been editing the entire day today and I am very close to finishing. The only problem that I've been dealing with my CCR was the fact that since what I am trying to accomplish is meant to be edited on a professional computer and my little MacBook Air can bearly take it. In other words, “FinalCut” has been taken ages to render my videos, but never the less, I have been able to work around this time-consuming problem. Since my computer was working slow enough I decided to not timelapse the entire editing process like I usually do, but if you scroll down you can find a quick video showing a seak pic of my CCR. Tune in next week for the final three post!

Week Eight 2/3

Turning my living room into a studio!

Today I decided that in order to have a creative CCR I would challenge my editing abilities with a green screen. So I transformed my living room into a green screen studio. I started by removing all the furniture, then I build the "set up" for the actual green screen. Following this, I placed a light hanging from the AC unit so it would illuminate me in a nice even way. Additionally, I used my TV as my personal teleprompter and the rest is history. Scroll down to check how everything turned out. Tune in tomorrow to see how I edit these crazy looking shots.

Week Eight 1/3

The Script...

Time simply doesn’t stop, this week has been a very hectic one with all the online schooling that I have been doing, but never the less, I have written a script for my CCR. I decided to create this script so I don’t have to wing it when it comes to answering the questions on camera. Scroll down to check out each individual answer for each question. I am very excited to film my CCR because I am planning on using a green screen in order to change the background of my interview. So with nothing more to say, tune in tomorrow to find out how I transform my house into a green screen studio.

Week Seven 3/3

It’s over ?!
Even though it is not technically over, its pretty close. Today I put together the last scene and I have to admit that I feel quite proud of the final result. I started by importing all the files from my desktop, specifically, I started with the mid-shot of Nicole's news report. In order to make Nicole’s video seem like an actual TV report, I added a costume “Channel 101 News on the bottom left third of the screen. Additionally, I added some text displaying some of the important things she was reporting about, like for example, the main conflict and important phone numbers. Furthermore, this was followed by an over the shoulder shot of the kidnaper as he watches the barking news. The camera then pans to the right and the viewer sees the group of friends tied up to chairs. For this part of the scene, I had to use the “Chroma Key” effect in order to get rid of the green screen and add the news report. Finally, I went around the entire project and I tweaked anything that need to be fixed. Overall, I am very happy in the way that the project looks and I will continuously be adding and cutting extra little things in order to make my film opening the best. Scroll down to check out the editing process of the final scene. Tune in next week with everything related to the Creative Critical Reflection.
