Auto-Tune?! Mmm yes?!
The last post of the week contains the audio progress of my movie opening. During this post, I analyze my audio options and I also talk about why I decided to do the things I did. Scroll down to check it out!
As seen above, I start everything off by adding sound effects that Final Cut already comes with. In this case, I added multiple different sounds of car doors closing. I decided to do this because, even though the original clip had the right sound, I wanted to emphasize the closing and opening of the doors and I simply wanted the door sound to louder. Additionally, after adding those sound effects, I realized that some clips had extra bits and pieces that were not necessary, so I took them out. Furthermore, I then used a technique that I was taught in class which was called sound bridge. This is when sound carries over a visual transition in a film. This type of editing provides a transition in the editing style because of the way in which it connects the two different shots. For example, I used the sound bridge technique multiple times not only because it helps transition between the two shots, but it also shortens the overall length of the entire project. I used this technique between the shots of Santiago’s car from the outside and the shots from inside the car. Overall, I am still having trouble with the length of the entire project, but techniques like the sound bridge help me lower that number. Tune in next week for the next project update.
